TO MERZBACHER LAKE

During this program you will see Merzbachera Lake which is located between Southern and Northern Inilchek Glaciers, in eastern part of Kyrgyzstan. This glacier lake got wide popularity, due to its unique property: every year the whole lake is disappears in the result of catastrophic break, and then it's appear again in the next year. This Lake was discovered in 1902 by Gotfrid Merzbacher - German geographer and climber. The lake is not very big in size: 4 km long, 1 km across, 60-70 m deep. In the central part it's separated by ice-wall on two independent lakes. During this tour you will be able to see Burana Tower (XI th century minaret) and have some rest at Issyk-Kul lake.

Days:

Arrival in Bishkek, meeting, transfer to hotel, rest, late breakfast, city-tour (B).

Transfer to the Natural Park ' Ala-Archa', hiking to the waterfall, return to Bishkek, accommodation in hotel (B,L).

Transfer to the southern shore of Issyk-Kul lake, en the rout visiting Burana Tower, accommodation in yurt camp 'Quiet Bay' (B,L,D).

Transfer to Karakol, visiting Orthodox church, Dungan mosque, oriental bazaar, transfer to trek start point in Atzhailau gorge (200 km), located in the valley of Inylchek river (alt-2500 m), camping (B,L,D).

Cross Atzhailau river towards the right bank, trek up along Inylchek valley to foothill of Nansen Peak (15 km), camping (B,L,D).

Trek up along left lateral moraine of South Inylchek Glacier to confluence with Putevodnyi Glacier, camping (B,L,D).

Trek up along South Inylchek Glacier towards Merzbacher Lake, camping (B,L,D).

Rest day. (B,L,D).

Radial trek to Merzbacher Lake, camping (B,L,D).

Climb the Panorama Summit (4500 m), camping (B,L,D).

Flight to Maidaadyr base, transfer to the shore of Issyk-Kul lake, accommodation in yurt camp, rest (B,L,D).

Rest, after lunch transfer to Bishkek, accommodation in hotel (B,L).

Visiting bazaar to buying souvenirs, rest, farewell dinner in the restaurant 'Aristocrat' with folklore ensemble performance, accommodation in hotel (B,D).

Transfer to the airport, departure.
