AROUND ISSYK-KUL LAKE
Lake Issyk-Kul ('Hot Lake', Turk.) is a pearl of Kyrgyzstan. The lake is located at the altitude of 1609 m above sea level ringing with snow-white mountains more than 4000 m height. Travel includes visiting the historical monuments dating to different epochs and belonging to different peoples populated this territory.
Travel begins in Bishkek with city-tour, which includes visiting of the Historical Museum, Frunze Museum, the Museum of Fine Arts, Ala-Too Square (motley mountains, turk.), the Victory Square and the monument to the legendary hero Kyrgyz epos - Manas. Next day morning is transfer to Lake Issyk-Kul with visiting a historical complex of Burana Tower (XI century A.D.). The complex was a part of Balasagun city, the capital of Karakhanid's state which located on the Great Silk Road. The historical complex consists of a small museum and tower itself. There are collection of stone figures of people - 'balbals' and ancient labor tools - millstones and seed-grinders under the open sky nearby. Then the route goes through the scenic Boom Gorge along the rough Chu River and leads out to Lake Issyk-Kul. Stop for overnight in a yurt camp, situated on the South Shore of Lake Issyk-Kul, will help to understand culture and lifestyle of the Kyrgyz people. Next day is devoted to walk in nearby mountains and to rest on the shore. Then is transfer to the Djety-Oguz Gorge (seven bulls, Turk.) well-known for mountains with original form and color.
Transfer to Karakol (black hand, Turk.). City-tour includes visiting Dungan Mosque, the Holy Trinity Church and the museum of the great Russian traveler Nicolay Przhevalskiy. Stop for overnight in resort which has received the name 'Aurora' as resembles the form of legendary Bolsheviks cruiser. In the morning of the next day is excursion to the Semenovskoe Gorge for participation in horse show which accompanied demonstration of national games - 'Kyz-Kymai' (chasing the girl, turk), 'Oodarysh' (wrestling on horses, turk.), 'Ulak-Tartish' (goat-lathing, turk.). On the way to Bishkek, excursion to a place stones gathering with petroglyphs images under the sky in environs of Cholpon-Ata (Venus's father, turk.) town. The ending of travel will be a farewell dinner at a restaurant accompanied by performance of folklore music ensemble.
