What we do at Jewish Heritage Tours of Budapest
|
Budapest has the largest Jewish community in Central Europe, with an active religious, artistic and historical heritage. The Jewish Quarter of Budapest is home to several historic sites, among these is The Synagogue Triangle of which one of the points is the famous Dohany Street Synagogue.
The other two points are the Rumbach and the Kazinczy Synagogues. The Dohany Street Synagogue, also known as the Grand Synagogue is Europe's largest and the world's second largest temple.
The Kazinczy Synagogue is the only Orthodox temple in Budapest and on Kazinczy is the city's only ritual bath, or mikveh.
Within the same building complex as the Dohany Synagogue is the Jewish Museum as well as other sites such as the Temple of Heroes, the Tree of Life, the Wallenberg Park and the Carl Lutz Memorial can be found nearby on Dob Street.
We are dedicated to showing visitors the wealth of Hungarian and Hungarian-Jewish culture Our highly qualified, English speaking guides are here to help you understand past and present of Jewish culture in Hungary and especially Budapest. We try to limit our sightseeing tours to small groups of people.
Our company was created in 1995 and since then we try to show our visitors the Hungarian and Jewish culture in our country. Our English speaking guides are well trained, and have the necessary qualification to help you understand the Jewish past and present in Hungary and in Budapest. Our tours are in one (English) language, and we try to keep the sightseeing tours with small groups of people. To customized to the needs of our guests, we prepared three types of Jewish Heritage Tours.
