Meeting Dracula Tour
Day 1: Bucharest – Mogosoaia– Snagov
Arrival at Bucharest , Henri Coanda International Airport (only 25 minutes from the city). Your English speaking guide will receive you in the airport. Orientation tour of Bucharest: visit of the Old Princely Court, the first royal residence of Bucharest, built by Vlad the Impaler himself. The Old Court church nearby is the oldest still functioning building in the city. These two sites will bring you right in the atmosphere of medieval Bucharest. Lunch will be on your own, but our guides will gladly recommend and transfer you to the best restaurants of the capital city. In the afternoon you will depart for the surroundings of the city, where you will visit the two beautiful sights of Snagov Monastery and Mogosoaia Palace. Snagov Monastery is the legendary burial place of Vlad the Impaler, although his grave is empty to this day. The monastery is on an island of a lake, in the middle of one of the biggest forests around Bucharest. The walk there will show you great wildlife and flora. It was first built by Vlad Dracula”s during his rule. Today it still shows the original paintings and fortification tower. Mogosoaia Palace shows how the Wallachian aristocracy lived in the 17th century. The palace is the best example of the national architectural style, brancovenesc style. Return to the city in the evening. Dinner on own, or at a restaurant of your choice. In the evening transfer to your centrally located hotel.Check in and free time.*Optional: In the evening transfer to Crama Templierilor restaurant, for the best Bucharest medieval experience, all with a festive folklore dinner show with dance. Your first night in Romania will surely be a great experience.

Day 2: Bucharest – Sinaia – Brasov
Hot and cold buffet breakfast at hotel. Depart in the morning, heading north, towards the Prahova Valley (the main skiing area of the country). Continue to Sinaia, the jewel of the Romanian mountain resorts. Visit one of the most important tourist attractions of Romania: Peles Castle in Sinaia. Known as the Versailles of Romania, the royal residence of King Charles I of Romania is considered the most beautiful summer royal residence in Europe. This castle alone is worth your entire trip to Romania. Afternoon arrival in the 800 year old Saxon city of Brasov. Next is the walking tour of Brasov. Enjoy the cobblestone streets on a specially designed tour that will take you back to the time of the Arab merchants who visited Brasov. See the Gate of St. Catherine (the oldest in the city). Make your way in front of the Synagogue, the narrowest street in Europe and stop at the Black Church. Visit the church, the biggest one of Eastern Europe, with its 4000 pipe organ. It also holds the largest collection of oriental rugs in the country, and the room hosting the old gravestones is impressive. Finish the tour in the Council Square, with its lively atmosphere.
Transfer to your hotel, free time and dinner on own. We recommend Sergiana Restaurant, the best restaurant of the city, serving great traditional cuisine. Overnight accommodation in Brasov at 3*** stars or 4 **** stars, centrally located hotel.
Day 3: Brasov – Bran Castle – Curtea de Arges
Hot and cold buffet breakfast at hotel. Depart in the morning for the nearby Bran Castle. This 14th century castle, known as Vlad Dracula”s Castle, one of the best preserved medieval castles of Transylvania, originally built by the Teutonic Knights. The castle was built in 1377 as a border point on the trading route between Transylvania and Wallachia. Although enlarged and renovated many times, it still shows the original lookout post from the gothic days. Inside, your guide will offer you’re the full insight into the legend of Vlad Dracula. Time for shopping. Next make your way down the Bran pass, towards the city of Curtea de Arges. This was the first capital of Wallachia, and was also used by Vlad Dracula himself. From here you will drive up the Transfagarasan Pass (highest road of our country, 2,034 meters altitude). Half way up, stop at Poienari Fortress. This was built by the barons who killed Vlad”s father. It is also the place where Vlad”s wife threw herself off the cliffs during a siege. To get there, one must climb up the 1480 steps. Evening return back to Curtea de Arges.

Day 4: Curtea de Arges – Targoviste – Bucuresti
Breakfast in the hotel. Morning departure towards the medieval city of Targoviste. This was the second capital of Wallachia and Vlads’ favorite residence. Enjoy a long visit of the ruins of the court. The walk trough the walls will take you down into the dungeon. Nearby is Chindiei Tower, the lookout point for invaders, but also the fort in which Vlad”s family took shelter during a siege. Enjoy a great lunch at any of the nearby restaurants, showing splendid views of the ruins. Afternoon departure to Bucharest. Free time and dinner on own. For your last night in Romania, we are glad to organize a dinner for you at the secluded Dracula Restaurant of Bucharest, the best place to get into the atmosphere of the novel.

Day 5: Bucuresti – Henri Coanda International
Breakfast at the hotel. Free time. Depart for Henri Coanda International Airport (25 minutes away), where your guide will drop you off.
End of service.
* As optional, one can choose to stay one more night in the town of Sighisoara – World Heritage Site and the only still inhabited medieval citadel in Europe.
The Upper Citadel offers great hotels, right in the heart of the 800 year old city. Optional dinner at the Birthplace of Vlad Dracula. The walking tour of the upper city includes the Tower With Clock, the Scholars Stairs and the Church on the Hill.
Return to the city through the amazing Saxon Cemetery.
