8 Days Kenya Family Lodge Safari

This is a safari that covers most of Kenyan Tourism circuits and its ideal even for a family with small children that can not be allowed at the tree lodges at Aberdare National Park.

ITINERARY.

Day 1: Nairobi - Nyeri

Depart Nairobi – at 0830hrs for Outspan Lodge in Nyeri town. On the way you will see coffee and pineapple plantations. Arrive at the lodge around midday check in and have lunch. After lunch you can visit the Baden Powell grave {Scouts founder} and the scout’s museum. Meals and overnight at Outspan Hotel.{If no Children below the age of 7 years there is the option of spending a night at either Treetops lodge or the Ark inside the Aberdare National Park}.

Day 2: Out Span Hotel - Samburu Reserve. Depart from Nyeri at 0800hrs for Samburu. Have a brief stop at the equator . Arrive in time for lunch at Samburu Lodge, Check in, have lunch refresh and after abit of relaxation go for an Afternoon game drive. The reserve have unique species not found in other parks like Gravy Zebra, Somali ostrich, Besia Oryx, others are Reticulated Giraffe, Greater and Lesser Kudu, Gerenuk, lions, Elephants and many species of birds. Accommodation at Samburu Lodge.

Day 3: Morning and afternoon game drives at Samburu and in between you can visit a Samburu village to see and learn how they live.

Day 4: Samburu - Olpajeta Conservancy. Depart Samburu lodge at 0800hrs with a gamedrive enroute. Arrive at Olpajeta conservancy by/around 1230hrs and check in at Sweetwaters tented camp and have lunch. After lunch go for an afternoon gamedrive.

Ol Pejeta boasts an astounding variety of animals including non-indigenous chimpanzees and the Big Five. It’s also one of the largest sanctuaries for the black rhinos. Accommodation at Sweet waters tented camp.

Day 5: Ol Pajeta Conservancy - Nakuru National park.

Depart after breakfast for Lake Nakuru National park have a brief stop on the way at Thomson Falls , scenic waterfall discovered by geologist Joseph Thomson who named it after his father. Arrive at Sarova Lions Hill in time for lunch and after lunch go for an afternoon gamedrive. Lake Nakuru previously famous for the flamingoes but large numbers have migrated to lake Natron in Tanzania and Lake Bogoria but you still have a chance to see some of Kenya's remarkable birdlife and other animals like bufalloes, waterbucks, rhinos, reticulated giraffe. Accommodation at Sarova Lions Hill Lodge.

Day 6: Lake Nakuru - Masai Mara. Depart from Lake Nakuru at 0800hrs and Drive across the floor of the Rift Valley and the Loita Plains to the Masai Mara National Reserve, arriving in time for lunch. Later enjoy an afternoon game-viewing. Accommodation at Sentrim Mara Camp

Day 7: You have an option of a fullday gamedrive but could be tiring for young children or a morning and afternoon gamedrive.

Have an early breakfast and depart from the camp by 0730hrs for a gamedrive the lest of the morning going back to the camp by 1200hrs. Relax and have lunch and later go for an afternoon gamedrive.

Day 8: Masai Mara - Nairobi- JKIA. After breakfast depart for Nairobi with a gamedrive enroute arriving in Nairobi late afternoon and be dropped at the JKIA. If time permits depending on your flight you can opt for dinner at the Pampas Grill or Carnivore restaurant before going to the airport at an extra cost.
