Langtang Helambu Trek

The Langtang Valley and the Helambu Valley are two distinct basins separated by a lek or high region called Gosainkunda (kunda means lake). The trekkers get opportunity to travel through pristine forests to the village of Ghoda Tabela, where the valley of Langtang opens. Langtang accommodates Himalayan river plain.

It is a holy place of Hindus where thousands of Hindus reach there trekking during summer to pay homage to Lord Shiva. A lake called Gosainkunda itself is situated here at 4380 meters

There are some other popular lakes near Gosainkunda as Nagkunda, Suryakunda, Saraswatikunda and Bhairabkunda

It lies to the north of Kathmandu where dominantly Sherpa and Tamang races have their homes. The trekkers come in contact with temperate forests and alpine pastures, glaciers lakes and snowy peaks which sometimes give the feeling of heaven.

Day 04: Syabru Besi to Lama Hotel 2415m

Day 05: Lama Hotel to Langtang, 3430m

Day 06: Langtang Village to Kyanjing Gompa, 3870m

Day 07: Rest day in Kyangjin Gompa

Day 08: Return to Lama Hotel, 2470m: 5-6 Hours

Day 09: Trek to Thulo Syabru, 2230m: 5-6 Hours

Day 10: Trek to Shin Gomba, 3330m: 4-5 Hours

Day 11: Trek to Gosainkunda Lake 4460m: 5-6 Hours

Day 12: Trek over Suryabinayak La Pass, 4609m to Gopte, 3440m: 7-8 Hours

Day 13: Trek to Malemchigaon, 2560m: 5-6 Hours

Day 14: Trek to Tarke Gyang, 2590m: 4-5 Hours
