Island Peak Climbing

Imja Tse peak with the height of 6189m is more popularly known by name of Island peak. The peak was named Island peak by Eric Shipton’s party in 1953, as the peak resembles an Island in a sea of ice when viewed from Dingboche Later in 1983, the peak was renamed as Imja Tse.

The peak is a part of the south ridge of Lhotse shar and the main hand forms a Semicircle of clifts that rise to the north of the summits of Nuptse, Lhotse, middle peak and Lhotse Shar. Cho Polu and Makalu lie to the east of the Island peak Baruntse Amphu and Ama Dablam liew to the south.

Day 02: Preparation Day in Kathmandu

Day 03: Flight from Kathmandu to Lukla; Trek to Phakdingma, 2610 m

Day 04: Trek to Namche bazzar,3441 m

Day 05: Acclimatization day- Trekking around Namche Bazaar.

Day 06: Trek to Tengbuche, 3860 m

Day 07: Trek to Dingbuche, 4400 m

Day 08: Acclimatization Day- Hiking Chhkung Ri back to Dingbuche

Day 09: Trek to Lobuche, 4915m

Day 10: Trek to Gorak Shep and back to EBC (Everest Base Camp), 5363m

Day 11: Ascend Early Morning ascent to Kala Pattar 5545 m

Day 12: Trek to Chhukung, 4710 meters

Day 13: Chhukung to Island Peak Base Camp, 5200m

Day 14: Acclimatization Day- Basic Training Ascend to 5600m and return to Base Camp

Day 15: Ascend Base Camp to Summit 6189m and descent to Chhukung

Day 16: Reserve Day (in case of unfavorable weather)

Day 17: Trek to Namche Bazaar

Day 18: Trek to Lukla

Day 19: Fly to Kathmandu

Day 20: Free day Kathmandu
