Follow the Path of Contemporary Europe from Post-War Prague and Berlin to Modern Day London and[nbr][nbr]Barcelona[nbr][nbr]Our Modern Civilization program brings students to four European centers of history, politics and artistic expression:[nbr][nbr]Prague, Berlin, London and Barcelona. No two days are ever the same during this cultural journey through time.[nbr][nbr]Students discuss the House of Hapsburg while sampling local cuisine at Viennese coffee houses, address the unification[nbr][nbr]of East and West Germany while examining remnants of the Berlin wall and compare examples of modern and[nbr][nbr]contemporary architecture from atop Antoni Gaud?’s Sagrada Familia and London’s Eye. Afternoon and evening[nbr][nbr]activities and events cater to all types of interests and range from horse drawn carriage rides and photography[nbr][nbr]workshops to outdoor concerts and even trips to the beach.[nbr][nbr]The Modern Civilization Program is a pre-college summer study abroad experience designed for high school students[nbr][nbr]looking to get more from their summer than sitting in a classroom.
