Uganda Honeymoon

Day one: On arrival, your Uganda honeymoon safari starts with a transfer to the shores of Lake Victoria. Later, arriving for overnight at the Lake Victoria Serena Resort in an Executive Deluxe room.



Day Two: After a leisurely morning breakfast, your Safari guide will pick you up from the hotel to start a short drive to Jinja. You transfer through the Mabira forest and on through sections of the sugar plantations of lugazi. A mid morning tour of the source of the Nile commences before heading to the Itanda falls for an afternoon sightseeing. Lunch will be served at a favorite restaurant before dinner and overnight at the Nile facing Honeymoon suit at Jinja Nile Resort.


Day three: Breakfast early and proceed to the Ziwa African Rhino Ranch in Nakasongola. You may stop along the way to take pictures of the local farmers and other attractions of interest. Have an afternoon walking safari at the sanctuary and see the African white rhinos before having lunch. Later, drive to the top of the Murchison falls and see the white water cascades flowing through the rift valley. The plumes of white water form a prism of rainbow colors as they crash some 45 metres to the Victoria Nile. Should time allow, you could take a short evening drive on the recently reopened Honeymoon track. Close to the top of the falls, you would try to find the rare wildlife on the southern bank. Game includes: Giraffe, Leopard, Uganda Kob, Cape buffalo and sights of the Abyssinian ground horn-bills. Later, drive to the Paraa safari lodge after taking a ferry over the Nile. Meals and overnight at the honeymoon suite Tent at Paraa Safari Lodge.

Day four: Subject to advance booking, you could opt for a private bush breakfast on the game drive. The drive to the park to see lions, giraffe, and elephant, Uganda Kob, Oribi and Cape buffalo ends with a bush breakfast at the Nile Delta. Freshly baked bread, cereals, pastries, fruit, teas, coffees, honey and sausages plus eggs are provided. Later, a relaxed drive back to the lodge to spend the afternoon lazing by the pool. In the afternoon, have lunch and then take the Nile cruise on the Nile for close up wildlife viewing. Crocodile, Elephant, giant forest hog, Hippo, Goliath Herons, African skimmer and other wildlife can be seen here. Later, return to your overnight accommodations for dinner and overnight at the Paraa Safari Lodge in a Honeymoon suite.


Day five: Morning breakfast and take a long transit towards Kibale forest National Park. Stop over for lunch in Hoima before heading through the town of Fort portal. Arrive late in the evening for dinner and overnight at the beautifully situated Kyaninga Lodge. Stay at a Honeymoon cottage overlooking the Crater Lake.

Day six: Breakfast early and depart with a picnic lunch to the Kibale Forest. A morning chimpanzee trekking in search of the habituated groups of wild chimpanzees of Uganda takes a half day. The moderate trekking in the forest will yield a sighting of the chimpanzees feeding in the forest. You will be allowed an hour of taking pictures and being with them at a distance of about 10 metres. Later, drive through the Uganda Equator and transfer to the Katara Lodge at the rim of the escarpment arriving for dinner and overnight at the Honeymoon Deluxe Tent.

Day seven: Morning breakfast and head out to the Chambura gorge for the chimpanzee trekking experience in the Jungle. Through a maze of over sized vines hanging from the canopies, begin the chimpanzee walk into the steep valleys in search of the troop. Chimps at Chambura are usually seen on fig trees and across the valley of the Chambura River as they hunt other monkeys. The viewing will take approximately 60 minutes before walking back up to the safari vehicle. After a lunch break at the lodge, proceed to the Mweya peninsular for a cruise on the Kazinga channel. In the afternoon or evening soaring temperatures, the African wildlife heads down for a drink on the river. Elephants are seen heading down in single file as the Cape buffalo congregate in herds. Submerged Hippos are observed yawning at the passing tourists. Migratory terns, pelicans, skimmers, crakes as well as the resident Nile Monitor are a rare sighting. Head back to the vehicle and your safari guide transiting through the leopard loop on the way back to the Katara Lodge for dinner and overnight at the Honeymoon Deluxe Tent at Katara lodge.

Day eight: Breakfast early and have a morning game viewing safari in search of the lion prides and the leopard on the morning kills. Bushbucks, Uganda Kob, Hyena, warthog, vultures and elephants are seen on the morning game drive. Return to the lodge and check out before heading through Mbarara. This is a land of the Ankole long horned cattle that can be seen grazing freely on manicured hills. Drive through the Kigezi region and drive past Lake Bunyonyi. Arrive in the evening for check in at the Clouds Mountain Gorilla View Lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day Nine: Morning wake up to some wonderful views of the Virunga Volcanoes of Uganda, Rwanda and the DRC. Have breakfast at the lodge before heading to the briefing point where the gorilla trekking guides will conduct the activity. The gorilla trekking would begin by driving to the closest point to the park and the walk would begin. Trekking with the ranger guides and support staff, the gorillas will be followed to their feeding area. From the first sighting of the Mountain gorillas, you will have an hour of gorilla viewing. Later, have your picnic lunch in the jungle and head back to the lodge for a massage and a couple of drinks before retiring to your Honeymoon cottage after dinner.

Day Ten: Breakfast early and depart for the Lake Mburo National park. Have a stopover for lunch in Mbarara, before starting an early evening game viewing safari of Lake Mburo. You will be able to spot the newly introduced giraffes feeding on the umbrella acacia. Topi and Impala will be seen on the game drives. Evening, proceed to the overnight accommodation at the Lake Mburo Safari Lodge or Mihingo Lodge.

Day Eleven: From your private en-suite safari camp, you will have breakfast and start a morning walking safari with a ranger guide. Walk through the park, looking out for animal tracks and the hyena’s den to the Lakeside. Zebra, Cape buffalo and Eland are usually seen near the swamps. Alternatively, have a horde riding safari in the park to get close to the Zebras and other shy wildlife like the Eland or Topi. This being the last night on your Uganda Honeymoon safari, you have a candlelit dinner and later an overnight stay at your private accommodations at the Lake Mburo Safari Lodge or Mihingo Lodge.

Day Twelve: Breakfast early and check out from Lake Mburo National park. Take a 4 hour drive along the Lake Victoria and proceed to the airport for the afternoon or evening departure flight out of Uganda.
