Disappointed by Peru arrangements. Booked 2 person custom trip to be away from tourists and flexible. The entire trip was subcontracted to Explorandes who botched multiple airport pickups. Mostly found ourselves traveling from one touristic spot to another where we were constantly in the middle of big groups of tourists. Guides ran very rigid, inflexible tours and conducted us from one crowded 'photo op' to another as if we were on a conveyor belt . Paid for a handcrafted meal and got MacDonalds.
Lima: No one met us at the Lima airport until after we had picked up our bags and waited for half an hour. Driver but no guide showed up as were leaving with a taxi. Guide the next day was nice but knew little about the market we toured and had forgotten to make lunch arrangements. So after we drove around for 20 minutes so the guide could pick up a package, we gave up and returned to our hotel.
